May 19 – 21 | Williamsburg, Virginia
Hone your management strategy, engage with fellow leaders, and gain insight into best-in-class preservation work at our intimate, three-day professional development experience in historic Colonial Williamsburg.
THE MODEL
With a central leadership theme, condensed program, and intimate scale, the Design Leadership Workshop is designed to deliver valuable resources devoted to strengthening your business and our community, paired with unique, site-specific experiences informed by local context.
THE TOPIC
In partnership with Harvard Business School, this year’s DLW curriculum is focused on effective management informed by emotional intelligence. Through a blend of case studies, group exercises, lectures, and lively discussions, participants will gain actionable insights, best practices, and strategic perspectives that can be immediately applied in the workplace to enhance employee engagement and foster positive practices. Participants will also receive a Harvard DCE Certificate of Completion.
THE SETTING
This year’s Workshop location is Colonial Williamsburg, a pioneer in historic preservation, restoration, and research. Interspersed with the Workshop’s professional development sessions are interactive tours, curator-led talks, and opportunities for discovery around Colonial Williamsburg’s first-in-class preservation efforts and leading museum collections. Participants will enjoy access to Colonial Williamsburg’s private spaces, including the historic home of Tom Savage, Director of Educational Travel and Conferences.
This year’s Workshop will also offer an optional add-on excursion to Richmond, supported by DLN partner McKinnon and Harris.
THE DETAILS
The Design Leadership Workshop is open to all DLN members and partners, including architects, interior designers, landscape specialists, and other professionals. This event is designed to be an intimate experience, so space is limited, and you won’t want to miss it. Register today!
