Be ready for rain or shine!

One of the best parts about the Summit is the diverse range of activities it encompasses; our time in Edinburgh will include everything from discussion groups to practicums to architectural and food tours, black tie dinners, and cocktail parties.

All that makes for a spectacular few days—but a difficult packing list. We are here to help! Below you will find what to expect and what to wear at the Summit.

 

WHAT TO EXPECT

TUESDAY, OCTOBER 15
• Ticket-holders for the Royal Yacht Britannia Benefit Dinner: Cocktail attire, and be on the lookout for more details to come

WEDNESDAY, OCTOBER 16
• Pre-Summit Speed Meeting and Breakout Discussions: Smart casual attire
• Partner Mixer: Smart casual attire
• Opening Night Reception & Dinner: Wear your autumn best and Scottish tartans (but kilt-wearers please see below)–this is the night to have fun with fashion!

THURSDAY, OCTOBER 17
• General Session and Tours: Smart casual attire with comfortable footwear*
• Dine-Around Dinners: Cocktail attire

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 18
• General Session and Tours: Smart casual attire with comfortable footwear*
• Design Leadership Award Dinner: Black tie encouraged–this is the perfect time to wear your Holland & Sherry kilt!

*Attendees will move directly from the General Session to Lunch and their Behind-the-Scenes Tours.

 

DON’T FORGET

• Outerwear: Pack a raincoat as well as light and heavier jacket options (temperatures could range between 41°F and 57°F).
• Thicker sweatshirts, high necks, and wool jumpers for the autumn weather.
• Comfortable walking shoes for tours and any additional exploring.
• Cocktail attire for Dine-Around Dinners.
• Black tie attire (that includes your kilt!) for the Design Leadership Award Dinner.
• A notebook to jot down inspiration, notes from sessions, or sketches of the sites we’ll see.
• A UK adapter for type G outlets.
• An extra suitcase for shopping in Edinburgh!
• Your passport!
