Last year, we reinvigorated our partnership with luxury publisher Assouline (with whom the DLN released Travel by Design in 2020) to launch THE LIVING ROOM by The Design Leadership Network, a compendium of extraordinary interiors across a global spectrum of styles, moods, and locales. With work by 218 of the DLN’s members and partners—including architects, interior designers, landscape architects, artisans, lighting designers, manufacturers, and our new category of interiors photography members—the work was a celebration of the best of the DLN and, indeed, the best design today.
From the beginning, the vision for this new collaboration with Assouline was a series, through which the DLN would present a different room of the house each year, culminating in a collection comprising interiors for every space of the home. Following the thrilling success of THE LIVING ROOM, 2025 will see the launch of the next book in the series: THE KITCHEN by The Design Leadership Network.
Where THE LIVING ROOM focused on comfort, lifestyle, and personality in the home (as the great Albert Hadley famously said: “The essence of interior design will always be about people and how they live.”), THE KITCHEN will shift that lens to one of the most functional rooms in a house, setting the stage for a powerful demonstration of the dual mastery of form and function that every great design professional must employ. THE LIVING ROOM presented spaces in such varied locations as Buenos Aires, Jackson Hole, and rural England across myriad design styles; THE KITCHEN will undoubtedly deliver the same wide-ranging survey of great design. Coupled with Assouline’s first-in-class design, branding, and packaging, it’s positioned to be another must-have for design professionals and enthusiasts alike.
Submissions for THE KITCHEN are now open; DLN members and partners can CLICK HERE to share their favorite designs for consideration.
