The Design Leadership (DLN)

Announces Book Partnership With Assouline

January 2024

The Design Leadership Network announces a partnership with the luxury publisher Assouline to produce THE LIVING ROOM (October 2024), a compendium of extraordinary interiors across a global spectrum of styles, moods, and locales. With submissions drawn from the DLN’s community of interior designers, architects, landscape architects, artisans, and prestigious partner brands, the book will serve as the ultimate survey of the best in interior design today and mark the first in an annual series of design books spotlighting the entire home, indoors and out. THE LIVING ROOM follows the success of the DLN’s Travel By Design, now in its sixth printing by Assouline.

With a membership comprising such design luminaries as Jamie Drake, Nina Campbell, Joy Moyler, Gil Schafer, Martin Brudnizki, Heidi Caillier, Victor Legorreta, Steven Gambrel, Billy Cotton, Christine Gachot, Janice Parker, Corey Damen Jenkins, and Tom Kligerman, to name a few, the DLN has a unique ability to curate the most outstanding examples of interior design right now—including projects published by its media partners, which include Architectural Digest, Elle Decor, The World of Interiors, Veranda, House Beautiful, LUXE Interiors + Design, Galerie, and more. Meanwhile, its network of brand partners (including Ralph Lauren Home, High Point Market, Loro Piana Interiors, Benjamin Moore, New York Design Center, Kravet, Waterworks, and more) offers exciting possibilities for book events and programming.

Says Michael Diaz-Griffith, the DLN’s Executive Director & COO: “Over the past year, the DLN has focused on expanding our slate of community events for members and partners; fostering meaningful conversations about leadership, management, sustainability, wellness, and craft; and producing new internal publications under the energetic leadership of Hadley Keller, our Director of Editorial & Community Engagement. Now, we are excited to double down on another aspect of our mission: sharing the work of our members and partners with the world. In THE LIVING ROOM, and the volumes that follow it, our community will enjoy a best-in-class platform for communicating their creativity with an international audience of design enthusiasts. Readers will find a definitive, room-by-room design guide and source of inspiration of an unprecedented scope.”

Says Peter Sallick, Founder of the DLN: “This project represents the best of the DLN. Through a sophisticated, elegant series of books with Assouline, we are simultaneously celebrating the great work of our members and delivering inspiration to design enthusiasts in a way that only the DLN’s depth of membership roster can provide.”
