Introducing DLN Masterclass
August 01, 2024
Members share their expertise on everything from sourcing to employee protocols in the DLN’s new video series.
Education, mentorship, professional development: These are some of the core tenets of the Design Leadership Network. They’re also the foundation of the DLN’s newest editorial initiative, where Members and Partners break down their successful approaches to everything from team management to strategic growth to international business. This is DLN Masterclass.
Conceived as a platform to spotlight our community’s vast knowledge while also providing smart, informative guidance, DLN Masterclass positions experts from within our community to “teach” their peers about one specific topic. Season one, launching today, features Christine Gachot, Janice Parker, Timothy Corrigan, Kelly Finley, and Matt Berman pulling back the curtain and breaking down the details of their work process from five unique angles. Informed by her time spent in hospitality, Christine shares takeaways on branding, communication, and team building for design firms; Janice opens the pages of her Employee Handbook, the key to ensuring her team never misses a deadline; Timothy lays out the foundations of running a successful firm across continents; Kelly breaks down how she established a 501(c)(3) arm of her studio, and Matt explains how he and partner Andrew Kotchen grew Workshop/APD from 2 to over 100 employees in a strategic manner. Each DLN Masterclass is viewable to the public, but an accompanying White Paper is accessible to DLN Members only. These materials provide an outline to the featured subject and are meant to serve as a springboard for further discussion and education.
This lineup is just the beginning: Season Two of DLN Masterclass is already in the works, with lessons on antiques sourcing, architectural restoration, retail strategy, and product partnerships on deck. Scroll down to peruse all of the videos (and accompanying White Papers); happy watching.
